The three famous stories and poems written by Hemingway, Frost, and Angelou are “A Clean Well-Lighted Place” by Ernest Hemingway, “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost, and “Still I Rise” by Maya Angelou. After reading through all of these works, I relate most strongly to the poem “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost.
This poem is one that resonates with me in many ways because it speaks of life choices and decisions we make throughout our lives. It highlights how no matter which way you choose there will always be consequences or outcomes whether good or bad. It also emphasizes how any decision made can never be taken back once chosen like the two roads the speaker talks about in the poem. The structure of the poem is crafted so thoughtfully as it tells a story with a lesson at its core; it is not only about choosing one road over another but taking something away from these lessons to help us grow as individuals.
On an emotional level, this poem brings me comfort due to my own experiences with making tough decisions in my life where I have had to choose between various paths that seemed equal when looking at them on paper yet still knowing deep down inside that one was more suitable for me than another despite facing potential risks or obstacles ahead on either route. This reminds me of times when I was stuck between carrying out what people expected from me or going after what really mattered to me; whether it felt right emotionally despite being told otherwise externally. The speaker in this poem goes for something unknown —something new—which is a journey he must take alone even though others may think differently about his decisions; this idea has stuck with me ever since reading this work because sometimes following your heart will lead you somewhere better than if you followed someone else’s expectations or instructions without participating yourself fully in the process first hand..
Ultimately, “The Road Not Taken” speaks to my personal experiences while providing deeper insight into life choices overall as well as offering some guidance on how we should go forth every time we face difficult moments where our instincts tell us both routes are viable options when evaluating them superficially yet upon closer inspection only one stands out clearly above the other based on individual preference rather than external pressures put onto us by society or peers around us who cannot feel what we do within ourselves before making a decision thus they cannot truly understand why we ultimately chose one path over another even though they may offer their opinions anyway regardlessly.. Even though all three stories/poems written by Hemingway, Frost and Angelou are each meaningful pieces of literature containing inspiring messages for readers alike–I find myself relating most strongly to Robert Frost’s piece due its message about finding clarity within oneself during times when faced with tough decisions involving multiple equal sounding paths leading towards different destinations
