At the beginning of the text, Gilgamesh is described as a tyrant. How did this statement influence your initial perception of him?

In addition to this initial impression of Gilgamesh being a ruthless ruler, I felt that his tyrannical rule may have driven away any potential allies or supporters he could have had within the community. It seemed likely that any people living under such an oppressive regime would fear him and seek ways to escape rather than support him in any way. Therefore, I believed there must have been few people willing to stand up against him and challenge his authority or offer counsel to help improve the situation for everyone involved.

Furthermore, upon reading about Gilgamesh’s tyranny it painted a picture suggesting he was prone to rash decision-making without considering long-term consequences or implications for himself or anyone else around him – understanding how unwise decisions can negatively affect other people does not seem like something a tyrant would easily comprehend nor care about doing so either! Such thoughtless actions also showed how selfishly motivated he must be; often seeking only personal gain from whatever course of action is taken without giving much concern towards how this will benefit (or harm) others involved in the process as well.

All these assumptions based off just one sentence about Gilgamesh being a tyrant gave me pause when thinking about what kind of person he really was beyond just having an oppressive leadership style – did he ever do anything good?
